  1. I bought the decals ( I think aero scale) about 10 years ago and started acquiring the wide body parts in the mid 90's. I might have the rest of the sheet but not 100% sure. For one thing, I do not plan on doing another kit bash Skyraider again. Hopefully a dedicated wide body kit will come out some day soon.... The build is in the April 2008 IPMS journal (Has 69 camaro on cover) and if you go to photobucket which has in progress photos of that build. Challenging build and worth it but that drained my build energy for a while......
  2. Here is mine using future base coat & Tamiya clear blue. Canopy is a Squadron Vacuuform.
  3. What Jennings wrote works great. If you still feel you need to spray a tint, dip the canopy in Future first since the Future acts as a clear primer. This will help eliminate a spray tint from "fish eying" or puddling. I know this from when I did my A-1E conversion using a vac canopy.....same thing happens on injection clear parts (UH-1 overhead windows bit me as well).
  4. Must determine if damage was there before shipment or during. May be tough to prove who is at fault to be honest.
  5. Got my kit in today, just a few days after the Cyber Modeler review....I agree fully with the review.
  6. I am assuming you are talking about the real aircraft measurement so you can check the kits scale accuracy....
  7. Interesting, If nobody takes you up on the 1/48 Fox One decals, I would like to step up to the plate. I helped Ben with that decal sheet and I was unaware of a mis-scaled batch, 1/48 is perfect!
  8. One thing I have noticed is Americans typically switch the fork & knife back & forth between hands while eating. Many Europeans keep fork in one hand and knife in the other and do not swap. A friend who was in the Marines & did covert missions was trained on that ritual and how Americans can easily be spotted.
  9. Super fast response! I look forward to seeing the markings soon.
  10. Get with Matt at Draw Decals, maybe he can rework the C-5 & C-17 decals for the 200 Star lifter.
  11. Here ya go...try these
  12. I had issues on my P-38 trying to apply them to a NMF. I barely got the red band around the fuel cap and no joy on the text. I put the DT decals away and just used the kit decals. Also have issues when I apply DT to a painted resin part, it will pull the paint away from the resin. Mixed results for now and the score is more bad results than good...... when they are on they are the best.
  13. Which markings? I built the NASA one so I have all the USAF markings left. PM what you need with your address.
  14. if you can spare the seat....my address is

  15. I will be cutting & hacking & stuff like that. I could probably scratch build but I am getting lazy in my old age... Front seat of Miracle Maker Back seat of MM
  16. Speaking of weathering..... For some reason, I thought all Strike Eagles had the -229 engine, I was wrong, this had the -220 as do a few other squadrons.
  17. Making a model of the P-51D I flew in so I need to add a seat....Anyone use a resin cockpit and not need the seat?
  18. A friend flew in to Tulsa in his naked F-15E on the way to depot maintenance. This was the first time he flew a Strike Eagle without the conformals, pylons or pods. DJ was amazed on how little power was needed compared to a standard configured F-15E.
  19. A T-33 pilot told me about the ECS issue when I wandered over to the jet a few hours after the incident. Looks like that was confirmed. As for jettisoning the canopy, the pilot lost visual cues and a canopy being jettisoned can be a projectile into the crowd. One of the oh-$#@% moments, easy to play armchair QB.
  20. Just do a new kit, build it as a submerged plane in Lake Michigan.....like the aircraft on display at the Navy museum in Pensacola......great diorama idea!
  21. Go to the Revell support site and fill in the info. You will need the kit number as well. If your kit is no longer produced but the same molds are available, be prepared to find that out. I got the clear sprue for the 1/48 F-8 kit and they replied that it was OOP. I noticed a reboxing kit on a hobby shop shelf and resent in my request with that number. A few weeks later, the sprue came in the mail for free.
  22. I mix the gray with their white for a softer wash. The gray is almost black OOB (Out of Bottle). I use it all the time, if you need more tips, just let me know.
