  1. The Ginter book on the F-111B was written by Tommy Thomason of Tailhook Topics. Not one of Ginter's thicker books but lots of good information and pictures.
  2. Yes, Jeffrey has resurected the main gear well replacement/correction set for the Trumpeter A3D series of kits. I believe it is a ways off though. He is working on how to engineer the unit that will allow easier production of the parts. I'm sure he will lock it down at some point. I know I am looking forward to the set. I am sure he will knock it out of the park when finished.
  3. No love for the Monogram F-4J or F-4C/D?
  4. I believe these seats would also work well in Kinetics S-2A/E Grumman Tracker. I'm pretty sure they were similar. I might have to get a set.
  5. Can't you add some thin plastic strip to the edge then sand to fit?
  6. I have the Kitty Hawk 1/48 F-35C. At the moment KH is the only one that has/had a F-35C in 1/48. I am removing all the raised RAM tape on all of the exterior parts. I'm using a multi tool that has a detail sander head to remove the tape. It is a laborious process. I've closed up the weapons bay doors which were not designed to be closed. They fit poorly. Love to get the 1/32 Trumpy kit but at 200 beans it's a bit pricy for me.
  7. Are you saying the NMNA gets no government funding? At all? If they don't, then why would the commander of the base not be encouraging the relocation of the museum? Get it off my command! Wouldn't the Navy be encouraging the relocation to more readily promote Naval Aviation in the birthplace of Naval Aviation to a more accessible location if they didn't have to pay for it? How did the USAF build all those huge hangars and are restoring aircraft to almost pristine condition without a small stipend from the government? The Navy's museum, they slap paint on a ancient carcass and call it restored?
  8. Raised their right hand to take an oath. Hmmm. So I assume by that statement you consider yourself more of a legitimate citizen than any other natural born citizen in this country. What about naturalized citizens? They take the same oath as our servicemen and women. Protect and defend the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic. I'm 69 years old and come from a Navy family. My dad and two uncles served in WWII in the Navy. They took the oath. All three in the Pacific. My dad died on active duty when I was fifteen in 1969 and my mom got $10k from the government to raise t
  9. We have a multi million dollar museum that only a select, privileged few can visit. Just how stupid is that? We pay for it and only a few can enjoy it. If they won't allow the public to visit it, they need to move it to where the taxpayers can visit it. I-10 is only a few miles away. One of the most heavily travelled highways in the country and it extends all the way from the west coast to the east.
  10. I agree. I have both the F9F-8 and 8T and while there's enough plastic in the sprues alone to make another kit, the kits themselves are quite well done. I think the weakness in the two kits is the cockpits. Resin replacements would have been nice. I also have a few FJ-3 Furys and I find it to be a pretty good kit if a bit fiddly. Their helicopter models seem to be sought after as well.
  11. Would like to trade my TA-4J for a Tamiya F-14A or D. My kit is open box with inner kit bags factory sealed. This is the first issue, Pt43. Lets see if we can work something out if you have an interest.
  12. It might be nice if they made a F-111B correction set for the HB kit. I'd buy that. I'm a USN aircraft kind of guy.
  13. Specifically Furball Aero Designs Scream'n Demons Part 1 sheet. Thanks Brent.
  14. I have the Kitty Hawk F-35C. It is an over engineered kit with poor fit of the weapons bay doors and other parts as well. The "tape" representation is quite heavy. It has been relegated to the shelf of doom. Hopefully Tamiya will release one. If not them then Kinetic or Italeri.
  15. Why no love in 1/48 for what I believe is the more interesting version of the F-35, the USN version. I have to believe Tamiya will have to release a C version at some point.
  16. Ok. So now we have a very nice F-35B and a nice F-35A. Where's the love for the F-35C? I have the KH kit and it is a difficult kit. The RAM tape is like armor plating. It is missing the APU hump. The open panels parts are a sloppy fit.
  17. Kit has decals for VF-84 and VF-31.Open box inner bags factory sealed. Asking $45 plus ship to lower 48. I accept Paypal and other forms as well.
  18. 11bee, have you seen the new Thrustmaster Boeing control yoke? It looks amazing. It is a pivot yoke not straight push in and out.
  19. The 2022 Shizuoka Hobby show has happened and there been no mention of it in HS ot ARC., at least as far as I have seen. Is there any interesting news this year?
  20. Received the Fury a few days ago. The kit was packaged like it was ready to do battle with the world postal systems. Mark is a great guy to deal with.
