  1. Just to add to the above, Aeroclub do the props too, three and four blades. Plus they have the alternative Dowty u/c legs.

  3. another way would be to ground the plane, attach a copper wire to it and something metal.
  4. If you are looking for Xtracolor (not sure about Xtracrylic) over on this side of the pond, try Great Models Webstore. Do a search for Xtracolor and you'll find tons of paint there.
  5. As a point of interest, this new Airfix set: http://www.hannants.co.uk/search/?FULL=AX98670 includes a Sea Harrier. As I know Airfix never did a 1/72 Sea Harrier I asked where the kit came from and I was told Italeri, which I believe is the old Esci kit.
  6. To be correct, the civil version (AIM's) has doors at both ends for a true roll on/roll off operation, see here http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=1306...next_id=1306198
  7. This is going to be interesting! can you still buy the front fuselage? I'm going to build this one though, it's a Maintrack conversion: Robert
  8. Well the CC-150 (Airbus 310) is called a Polaris so something along those lines would be good
  9. Cheers for that, I didn't expect it in that section.
  10. That's interesting, Welsh Models still have it listed as 'TBA' I can't see anywhere to even place an order for it.
  11. you could try getting this model and copy it into a bigger or smaller scale, this is 1/100 scale Global Express and you can get it from Modelcraft, at least that's where I got mine.
  12. I have the Modelcraft boxing and it's not bad, very 70'ish though. I does come with the option of floats or wheels for the u/c and some Canadian marking schemes. Robert
  13. Very nice jagman, just a comment though on the markings, timeline wise I think they would have had the Red Ensign on the tail instead of the tri-colour flash Robert
  14. Today in the mail was Airfix' 1/72 Falklands Vulcan set, an Aircraft in Miniature 1/72 Boeing 747 and an A Model 1/72 An-22 Robert

    C-5s

Hi Eddie, Do you have anymore photos of the u/c gear other than these. I've a 1/72 kit which I would like to detail a bit better than what you get in the kit. Actually I wouldn't mind trying to detail the whole thing a lot better. Cheers, Robert
  16. I don't know if you remember when using playdough you could roll it between your hands and make long sausages (round shape) that kept getting longer and longer as you rubbed your hands together, well this does the same thing and has the consistancy of playdough, at least up until it hardens. Once you've mixed the two parts, I would roll the Milliput until it gets to the diameter of your float tubes, you can then either cut it into the lenghts you want with a knife and then just press the ends so they attach to the next bit, or if they have radius'ed ends like on a rubber dingy you can form th
  17. Hi Julien, Mach II does a 1/72 kit: http://www.mach2.fr/huskieg.htm
  18. I would go with Milliput, it's a two part product which comes in two sticks, you cut off an equal amount of each stick and then rub them together in your hands (best to use sugical glooves when doing this) so that the two parts get thoroughly mixed. The heat in your hands acts as the catalist to start the bonding process. I usually roll it into sausages then fold it back on itself then roll it again and do that until it is completely grey in colour. Then you have about two hours before it starts to harden. After it's hardened it can be filed, sanded, machined (if you want) and it doesn't sh

    F-111K

There's a couple of photos of the F-111K's in Tony Buttler's book British Secret Projects-Jet Bombers since 1949, it shows them stored in one corner of a hanger. One had got well advanced in it's production, had the wings installed but the other didn't get that far, having no wings. Also one of the two was a TF-111K. As Tony is a fellow member of Air-Britain Society I wrote him an email and asked a few questions about these aircraft, and he told me that when the contract was cancelled the two aircraft were left in the corner awaiting some decision as to their fate. He told me that the two
  21. Here you go: The scale is in mm's. I wrote to Peter Wright at Aeroclub (click on the contact button) and said I had their Sherpa kit and noticed the props were just what I was looking for to upgrade my Unicraft Trent Meteor. I asked him if I could buy 'just' the props and within a couple of weeks they arrived in the mail. This was earlier this year and after the Sherpa stopped appearing on their website. FYI, they have just released a 1/72 Sea Fury five blade prop if you need one bigger than this. Peter has told me that they can sell anything out of their sets as single items if that
  22. Here's another which is supposed to work really good, I don't know if you can get it in the US/Canada though or if it goes under another name over here. Fairy Power Spray
  23. Probably it's a lot easier to find a supply of Griffon engines from Shackletons now anyway. There's a number of P-51's using the Shack's Griffon too (with contr-prop), especially on the Reno Unlimited circuit.
  24. I have one too and I'm in complete agreement, and I've been able to buy just recently, the props from the kit too, I found that they could be used as a replacement for the Unicraft Trent Meteor props, spinner is the right size but the prop diameter is a tad bigger but you have to reprofile the blade tips anyway. Robert
  25. I know what you mean there Jes, I bought a Carpena decal sheet because it had a Thunderbolt with RAF markings, but only about a month or so after I finished the decaling, I found out that the silver lightning streak should have been red, and as I had put quite a bit of effort into it to make it look good I couldn't be bother to change it: Robert
