  1. Looks stunning! The radome weathering looks especially lifelike.
  2. Thank You very much! Thank You very much! Thank You very much! I hope they are helpfull in even tiniest bit. I hear Hasegawa Flogger has better radome shape and canopy with a mirror.
  3. That is some lovelly work done. Amazing paintjob. I often leave this one little, insignificant detail that I did not want to add/remove/change. And always when I look upon a finished model my eyes are drawn to that detail. That teaches me to fix what I can because I'll regret it later. That panel seems to be the gun cover that stands too proud of the surface. Perhaps You can remove it, sand it from underside and reatach later?
  4. So, how about a couple of shots per model? 😉 Tornado: Su-20: Su-22's: They are very hard to photograph. Both suffer from too little contrast beween the main colours. Su-24: And the MiG-23's
  5. Your paintjob is amazing. Love all the discoloration and weathering of panels. Looks amazing.
  6. Wow, nice exhaust cans. Whoops. Sorry, my bad. Very nice model. The plain gray looks great with formation insignia. Very nice work.
  7. Very nice work. Love the colour You used. It really distinguishes itself from all the lgg/white and SEA schemed short nosed Phantoms. Phabulous.
  8. You can never go wrong with a Sundowner Tomcat. It looks just awesome!
  9. Amazing work. I always smile whenever I see one of these beasts built.
  10. Nice choice on the scheme. There's something very interesting in a green radomed Flanker. It feels slightly out of place for me, but yet, very right.
  11. Lovelly pair. The Draken is very near the top of my to-do list. It surelly deserves more attention. Nice mix on the F-35 paint. I used pure Have Glass from Hataka on mine. A lovelly colour, but much too light unfortunatly. I like You rendition better. Draken looks way better with flaps dropped. Nice work there.
  12. Since I'm done with the build, I figured I'd post some pixels that pass as a photos in my opinion 😉 The VFA-127 jet. I added an Aires ejection seat I had from one of my earlier builds that I sadly lost in an accident along with rather large number of other models, most of which were Hornets. The Sidewinder and ACMI pods are from the kit. Well, actually the ACMI pod is the other Sidewinder, just cut down and with some Tamiya masking tape detail. I gotta say it doesn't look half bad. This is the best shot to show the Academy windscreen. I gotta sa
  13. Oh I hate not finishing models. Even if I cut corners or diverge from the initial ambitious plan I try to finish a kit once started. Although my most ambitious project is a far cry from Your Tomcat. With such a magnificent build like Yours, I hope You'll not get too distracted from finishing it because of a minor thing such as wheel wells. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for You!
  14. I've had better experience with Gunze H30 as a gloss than Tamiya X-22. For the matt coat I use Tamiya XF-86 but I'm not too happy about it. Feels not matt enough. It might all be because of the paint to thinner ratio, as I'm mixing it more like 30/70 to 50/50 thinner/clear. I've used Vallejo clear gloss and matt - the white bottle ones. They seemed ok. Gloss was amazing. But it felt sticky for like a week. I used Tamiya thinner, and I might have just added too much. I'll have to do some more testing. This time thinning with water. Oh, these are all acrylics.
  15. These are some very nice photos. Thanks for posting them. Very interesting loadouts, mixing GBU's with slicks and throwing in a Shrike. Wow. Almost like a gaming loadout 😉
  16. Lovelly model! You made it look easy to build it. Even the gear issue. Great work.
  17. Aaaaand we're done! KP MiG-23MLD is finished. I managed to tone down the sand colour a bit, so it doesn't look that yellow. And the brown I finally can accept. I made the pitot tube out of scrap plastic, as well as the triangle antennae on the nose. I'm not too happy about some of the chipping and in a glorious feat of clumsiness I managed to put a small gray fingerprint on the right side of the fuselage. Luckilly the brushpainted Vallejo greens look similar when applied with the brush as with the airbrush. But the model IS done. And so is this project (for
  18. Lovelly jet. With a multiple option decal sheet there is more probabilities I'll enconter more than one interesting option. So this kind of halves the decal sheet cost in my mind. Even though the reality is the other option will need a brand new kit 😉
  19. I've only built one (a D model), and I wasn't too happy about the thick clear MFD screens and my solution for them. I tried painting them from the underside and it didn't turn out all that good. But once I sealed the fuselage they look fine. Other than that, You could use a proper ejection seat, as the kit ones seem to be the earlier SJU-5/6 type. It's a shame there are no sidewalls molded to attach to the cockpit tub. My copy had some gaps there that required some sidewalls from plastic. I feel the intakes are a usefull addition. I believe I used D-mold. Kit ones look slightl
  20. One more lands on the shelf!! I couldn't resist doing the Polish AF bird first. Building it next to the KP bird really shows how basic this kit is. Very little panel lines, especially on the wings. There's no rearward mirror on this one, hell there wasn't even the center bar on the canopy. . I might do it sometime later though. But it does have the pitots. But, once built up I have to say I really like the way it looks. Reminds me of my first Academy MiG-23. I'll probably have the MLD done this weekend too. All it needs is a flat coat, painting of all the hanging
  21. So there I was just sitting on my hands last tuesday thinking I will not make it. Then it struck me. Oh, right, the GB ends on 1st of April, not 1st of March. I was quite close with finishing them on 27th FEB, got them all nice and flat coated. But frankly, the finishing touches turned out to be more than 4 hours per model. That is four workhours per plane after a flat coat. Just attaching small stuff, painting the gear door edges red, assembly and paint up of armament and stuff like that. Ah, well. So, I managed to fix the too dark roundels and lettering on the Delta.
  22. Blink and You'll miss this one. Nice, very quick work. I love the cockpit work, looks amazing.
