  1. Thanks Brian! Good service on your end as well. Brian
  2. Paul's a good guy to do business with. I bought a 1/48 B-57B off of him. When I got it, it was missing an entire sprue. Paul was kind enough to replace the sprue from his kit, after Classic Airframes told me there was nothing they could do. I would trade with him again any day. Brian
  3. It's like watching a train wreck. How many friends can one guy have that create profiles to only post once or twice and never log in again? Anyone notice that most of the supporters haven't logged in for about 2 weeks now? It is good for membership though! By the way "Tim", I'm a senior design project away from being a qualified rocket scientist. However, I'm sure that makes me an idiot by your standards.
  4. I did a whitepages search for Art Johnson, Panama City, FL. There are 3 results. I'm assuming you know the address you mailed the kits to. If it's 1 of the 3 listed, then you have his phone number. It's worth a call to see what the story is. Possible Contacts Brian

    F-35!

Wetted area is essentially the effective area of the wing which is in contact with the airflow. It does not account for the surface area of the wing that is buried in the fuselage. Basically it's the parts that "stick out" from the airframe and are a source of drag. A good textbook definition is difficult to come by. Brian
  6. 1/48 Tamiya F-16 converted to 421st FS F-16CG 1/48 Hasegawa F-16C, Montana ANG Brian
  7. Kit is the 1/48 Pro Modeller F-4E, basically the Hasegawa F-4E reboxed. Started this in May, worked on it on and off until completion earlier tonight. Decals are from Expert's Choice for the Fort Wayne Phantom Pharewell scheme by Don Spering. Loadout is 4 AIM-9Js, 2 Sparrows, 3 fuel tanks, and a Pave Spike pod. Wash is "The Detailer", worked pretty well overall once I had some practice with it. Various shades of MM Metalizer on the exhaust areas. I'd like to thank Dave Cook for providing me with several photos of the special scheme. Comments and critiques are very welcome. Brian Overa
  8. The difference is in the thrust output between the F405-RR-400 and the F405-RR-401 engines that are used. But I believe all aircraft are using the -401 or will be converted to use it, I'm not a configurations guy. But the only part of the engine that's visible on a model would be the nozzle and perhaps the rear of the turbine so external engine differences aren't important. I've seen the Adour a few times now Brian
  9. Had a leftover set of True Details seats for the T-33 T-33 Seats Brian
  10. All the new Afterburner decals for block 50 say sized for Tamiya in the description.
  11. PM inbound on a set of seats.
  12. This ought to do it, scroll down a bit........ Engine Nacelle Design Damn, I was writing while you were posting!
  13. Bit over the top with that post. Have a cold one and calm down. Great looking sheet, I need to pick up another A-6!
  14. Mike- Maybe try this one. It seems to list officers and enlisted members. Tbirds new webpage HTH, Brian
  15. 1/48 Monogram F-101B Voodoo Area 53 Decals, Maine ANG "Maineiacs" Brian
  16. I preordered mine through Sprue Brothers for the cheap price of $125 million. Go with Gordon, he'll save you money!
  17. I tried to order these previously. They haven't been available for at least 2 years. I have no idea why they're in the catalog still. It does give you something to start with however. AIM-9 Seeker Covers Brian
  18. 48th FIS with the nice green eagle motif on the tail. Can't go wrong with any of 'em though! I've got walk-around pics of the 48 FIS bird at the USAF Museum if you go for that one.
  19. 1/48 Hasegawa F/A-18D VMFA(AW)-224, using MAW Decals Brian
  20. Vortex generators, in short, delay separation of the boundary layer. This allows for a greater length of laminar flow along the chord length. They create enhanced "mixing" of the air, which helps the overall properties of the airflow over the wing. The "mixed" or turbulent air actually improves flow over the control surfaces at the trailing edge of the wing. Jay- vortex generators actually increase drag. They enhance the mixing (turbulent) effects of the air. This produces a rise in skin friction drag, but delays separation at the same time. It's kind of a give and take system. Brian
  21. FNC said the show was an hour and fifteen minutes in length as well. I think they included the Fat Albert demo as part of that time. From what I've read, the show was winding down when the crash occurred. FNC also thought BA 6 was lead in the delta and 7 aircraft performed ("They have a plane which wears number 7") until someone called in to correct them. A very unfortunate event to say the least.
  22. edit>> never mind that, you edited your post as I was replying If you're looking for A or C models, I'm not sure about current markings. There were a couple sheets a while back from Repliscale for AK tailcode Eagles. I've got a few of those, PM me if you're interested. Brian
  23. Something big....something spectacular..... something along the lines of a C-5 or C-141 would be appropriate I think. Actually, no matter what it is, I'm sure it will be a great kit. Hopefully it's not something that already exists in several forms.
