  1. WHAT??! How could you bear to part with this jewel! No matter, the images here are a fine record. Great work!
  2. New Years' Resolution, in a word: DISCIPLINE!!! I'm still knocking away at a Monogram F-100D; when that's done there is a part-started F/A-18D ATARS (Hasegawa + Wolfpack) I really want to see finished. Uhm...that's 2017 spoken for, then!
  3. C'est formidable! Yes, the Italeri and ESCI Huns (they aren't quite the same...!) are still the solution in 1/72. Your weathering looks superb -do you have a shot of the underside, by any chance...?
  4. True. But they are doing things to us: Nutshell... Regarding Navigation apps, a lot of musicians seem to be punting their own versions (and heeeere we go...). The Pink Floyd one is pants -just wishing you were somewhere doesn't cut it. The Blondie one is my current pick; it's great at finding alternative routes: you can go one way...or another... I'm sure there must be more out there.
  5. Yeah. You're probably brushing her too much...
  6. I can only make the parts count go up to 72! If you mean (B)65, these look roughly the right shape but are actually loading points that appear to install in tandem on the centreline to the rear of the forward one (Part B52). The parts inventory and the Italeri instructions are remarkably fence-free...out with the Evergreen!
  7. Can only endorse JackMan's findings with the Note 5. It wakes up instantly when you turn it on and responds with the same alacrity throughout the day. The only downside is the lack of an add-on memory facility (apart from awkward micro-usb sticks) and the way it gobbles a full charge. If you use it a lot for business, that could be an issue. But it feels incredibly solid, being all metal and glass...OK, it feels like you have a plasma-screen TV in your pocket -and the camera is excellent! Special mention for the 'Tube Amp' plug-in that came loaded on mine: a decent pair of phones, and you
  8. How to excel! The finish is pretty much everything on an SR-71 model; you couldn't ask more than this. The p/e panels look especially wonderful under paint. This is a salutary lesson for all of us with 1/72 Black Things in the to-do pile...
  9. About the only kind of modelling I do nowadays! When I let my imagination off the leash, it's all about the more involved projects I have running in the background most of the time. The 'straight-ahead' builds don't feature that much; instead I mutter to myself about a 1/48 F/A-18C I'm part way into, with lots of open panels (should really try and scratch at least the visible bits of the gun...) and a GWH Fulcrum (unstarted) that I want to feature in a diorama: a blue-nose Domna AB aircraft sitting in a 'snow revetment' with a few deep-frozen ground dudes hauling missiles.
  10. Excellent work; beautiful markings. I'm about halfway through one of these myself just now -clearly I have a lot to live up to!
  11. Ha! Just want you saps to know I'll be building this jobbie in 1/48 -found the unicorn-rare TwoBobs sheet at a South African hobby store...who da man, WHO DA MAN??! (Yes, I will probably mess up them decals like a dead elk.)
  12. Absolutely. The RP Toolz punch & die set is quite superb. Unfortunately, for 1/48 scale instrument decals you will almost certainly need that and the Big punch & die set also. Not cheap, then, but a very excellent set of equipment and a fine investment.
  13. 11/25/2016 I think I fixed all the scribing goof-ups...I blame them all on lack of decent light! Fortunately I have a much nicer, lighter studio to work in now I’ve moved back to my old home town. Still way too much of a stash, though, I'll never get to 'em all! L After the tidy-up, I decided that I wasn’t really happy with the nicely done moulded detail in the main gear bay. Not for this job, anyway. Bits were duly chiselled out and replaced with styrene card, rod and tube. Before/During: After (well, almost ther
  14. Damn, very sorry to hear that Sir. Been a bit under the weather myself the last couple of years...things I was hoping to avoid until well into my old age, but I guess I'm already there! Let me know if you have any luck with the SHM exhaust; if that doesn't work out I can probably sort something out for you with one of mine -I think there is a Trumpeter one around here somewhere...
  15. This one...? Now I don't feel too well...
  16. Not as such, but if you want a Maverick that is, well, a bit more Mavericky than most you could do no better than North Star's gem-like package, which includes the Rail, natch. The detail on these has to be seen to be appreciated (especially around the hot end of the missile, which has all the tiniest nuts 'n' bolts!). Go on -because you're worth it!
  17. Sorry, bit late on parade! Dunno if this pic of a Spangdahlem Spook helps -not my property, so link only: http://i1126.photobucket.com/albums/l613/sixtyonesixty/RealF4GWW.jpg
  18. Like Mr Desautels said, interesting subject very neatly done -great job!
  19. Sticking my neck out a bit, I think the later Revell toolings are well regarded -with the caveat that some older editions are still around and you need some insight into catalogue lore to know which boxes contain what bits! Having said that, I can vouch for this F-14A and this F-14D. Also, although 1/144 aftermarket is still a bit cultish these days, the Revell Cats are catered for with jewel-like resin and p/e updates if you like that kinda thing.
  20. Oh well. Intrigued by the box description "FULLY OPERATING MODEL"... So, I dunno, you might want to wear a hat or something.
  21. Excellent. There is a yawning chasm in the market that Victory Productions plugged to some extent a while back...but try finding any of those sheets now!
  22. So good to see one of these getting built! It is HUGE, even in 1/72, and although missing some B-1B features it has a broadly decent outline. Apart from buying a ton of resin to update the thing, if you can find any Fox One Bone decals (or a helpful friend who has them!) there is a very useful list of adjustments included that will make this kit resemble a later airframe. But if that is not an issue, you'll still have a most engaging project on your hands...and a real monster looking for somewhere to sit when you've finished!
  23. So not great news there Clif -very sorry to hear you're underneath all this right now. But I kinda get the feeling it picked the wrong guy...! Kick some, Sir. We're right behind you.
