  1. I note that you have a TX flag. You do know, that TX invaded NM, three times and we have never forgotten it? But you're in Amarillo, which is West Texas, which is all right. I've considered moving to Canyon if I ever leave NM. Hasta la proxima vez.
  2. Are you working on it again?
  3. I have this kit and I am following your build with great interest.
  4. A great job with a tough kit.
  5. Great insight into your build.
  6. Way nice. Like the stowage.
  7. Spackle. Or spackling paste. And that's a very good suggestion.
  8. Wow! And this was a busted up kit? I really liked your wheels and I appreciated your showing us the base's construction. And the green (night vision) photo was very nice. All in all -- a great build.
  9. Base? How are you going to base it?
  10. I can't get one done and you've done twelve!
  11. Hard to believe it's a first build. Let her do it all the next time. But don't tell her about contests.
  12. On of the best in-progress threads I've read. Can't believe all the work you did.
  13. Armor judges in a contest might not agree. But it is a technique I have used myself. Like hiding screwups with boxes and bags.
  14. I don't think so. My luck in communicating with Lucky has been mixed.
  15. My initial thought was that, "You get what you pay for." My second thought was that, "Most of what we get now comes from China, or, if you're lucky, Thailand, so it all has the potential for being crap." Which led me to ponder whether paying premium prices is likely to get you a premium product. I once researched ice cream makers and decided that, until you hit about the $700 price mark, they all had a significant number of reviews indicating that a significant fraction of them didn't perform. Similarly, I just replaced two Dremels due to battery failure. New battery packs cost about as much as a new tool and the reviews indicate that battery performance is poor across the entire range of rotary tools. So, I'm not surprised by a compressor that doesn't perform. My experience with Harbor Freight has been quite satisfactory, but I've never bought power tools or any item over about $20.
  16. Nice little tutorial. Looking forward to your progress.
