  1. I think this kit (along with its F.24 sister) and the 1/48 Lightning from those days are regarded as the best kits of the "old Airfix". This one sure turned out great!
  2. Lovely work on those missiles and pylons. Depicting the hanging rollerons is a great idea.
  3. Vader is too harsh. The WSO's visor looks great! How did you achieve that effect? Or should that be ECMO's visor? Wizzo's visor sounds cooler, though. 😄
  4. This is really quite something! Impressive detailing and painting.
  5. I also built my own paint booth. I still wear a respirator when airbrushing, though. I also wear a respirator when smoothing putty with Mr. Color Thinner. Didn't mean to be scary. 😉 No, seriously. When handled properly, these things aren't harmful. To be able to handle them properly, you need to know what you're dealing and what the risks are. No clue where these chemicals are used apart form these paints. And they're probably an extreme example as far as hobby supplies go, but I think they illustrate that there are indeed substances for hobby use that ca
  6. That doesn't mean it hasn't happened. Unlikely? Yes. Impossible? Not at all. No. The warnings are there because people don't know - for example - what heck isocyanates will do to your body when exposed to them without protection. See the pdf on "Safety working with Isocyanate" on the ZeroPaints website (LINK!). Quoted from said pdf: ^^^And this stuff is marketed to scale modellers. Common sense here IS the existence of warning labels so people know what they're exposing themselves to.
  7. With proper protection, they're not. But.... "All things are poison, and nothing is without poison; the dosage alone makes it so a thing is not a poison." Attributed to Paracelsus (early 15th century). Some of the chemicals used in modelling aren't good for your health when used without proper protection. Your lung doesn't like fine airborne particles, whether they're from enamels, lacquers or acrylics. Just because you can't smell a paint or glue doesn't mean it can't be dangerous for your lung. Err on the side of caution. Use proper personal protection equipment. i.e. a
  8. Tons of cool options! Loving the full-colour instructions. VAST improvement over the black and white instructions. Have you got something planned for the Mi-24P? 1/72 at first (of course! ), but I guess Zvezda will eventually release a 1/48 Mi-24P also.
  9. Nice one! Gotta be one of the coolest paint schemes ever!
  10. Very nice Kfir! What colours did you use for the camouflage scheme?
  11. Niiiiiice! Gonna need a few of these in 1/72 when the Modelsvit 2000 hits the streets.
  12. .... and the iridescent foil for the crew's helmet visors.
  13. The Trumpeter 1/32 kits have them. Zactoman also makes a set, I think. The Trumpeter 1/48 kits also have them.
  14. Interesting. Where did you read that? The "250" in RBK-250 should specify the overall weight of that particular bomb. The MBD-2U-67 is rated for four bombs weighing 100kg each only. Four RBK-250s on a MBD-2U-67 shouldn't work weight-wise. Don't know if they would even fit in terms of length. For heavier weapons on the wing glove station of a MiG-23/27, there's the twin store carrier MBD-3-2UT-1, which can accommodate two weapons of 250kg or 500kg each in tandem. The pylon that replaces the R-23's pylon is called BD-60-23. When a MBD-2U-67 is used, it
  15. Nice work on that 'pit! The decals really look quite convincing. Good to see an EB-57. The B-57 doesn't get near enough love, especially the non-Vietnam versions.
  16. Great build! Really quite an attractive paint scheme.
  17. Dude, you asked that four weeks ago. LINK! 😉
  18. Cool to see one these built! That it's an in-flight build makes it even cooler.
  19. Great build! Great video, too. Enjoyed it immensely.
