  1. I love, love, love Tamiya Light Curing Putty. Been using it for a couple of years. Why wait to work on your model....
  2. Very nice! If you hate sanding (as do I) you should try Aves Apoxie Sculpt or Milliput - and before it cures, you can smooth it out to the mating surfaces with Isopropyl alcohol. Sometime you don't even need to sand it, the blending is so good....
  3. The only giveaways on the scale is the undercarriage and the engine can on the back. Amazing work - just look at the airbrakes! A real stunner!
  4. Very nicely done. Not enough light in your photographs though!
  5. I'm hoping to pick this one up. Looking forward to the rest of the build - your detail on the cockpit is excellent.
  6. Absolutely gorgeous. For personal reasons, I have special connection to this aircraft, and seeing this has brought back some wonderful memories. Beautiful build.
  7. Really nice. The work is fantastic for the scale as well.
  8. The Knight's Interceptor garage kit, inspired by the popular science fiction epic series, comes ready for assembly and paint in the popular 1/72 scale. The complete kit includes: - Plastic parts to build the interceptor - Pilot figure with optional heads + droid - Decals to build at least 2 different versions of the interceptor - Photoetch parts - Contoured and detailed vacform canopy with an easy cutting mold - A stand - Instructions which include a decal and painting guide Note that trimming of flash, and fileing of some parts will be required. We can't recommend this kit for beginn
  9. I too have enjoyed the books before I saw the movie. The movie had one glaring fault: the camera work. It was terrible. Apart from that it was an interesting time at the movies which is all I can ask for. Jennifer Lawrence did a fantastic job.
  10. Impressive! Acrylic always adds a bit of class to model display.
  11. Simply amazing. If you had told me it was 1/32, I would have been impressed. If you told me it was 1/48 I would be even more impressed. But 1/72 and I'm going to have to say you're crazy - in a good way. Beautiful work.
  12. One of my favourite aircraft, and you've done a brilliant job!
  13. What a beauty Anzo, you really made her shine. How do you plan to display her?
  14. I like how the poor pilot is last. And that brown leather flight suit is simply smashing! I wonder if that's standard issue? He's also a lot taller then the other guys...
  15. Could be bad resin. Simple green usually does the trick, and then even perhaps a wipe down with alcohol. I've had bad resin where NOTHING will stick. Very annoying, hope you sort it out.
  16. I prefer Sube Sube - yields an incredibly smooth finish - or Mori Mori. The Tamiya one above looks similar. Regardless, catalyst-hardened polyester putty is the way to go.
  17. That's one of my favourite scenes in the SW series. That, and the battle above Coruscant at the start of EIII.
  18. Was just on the Aerodrome, going through some archived model threads. When I went to the 'top view', to look at all forums, guess what: General (40 viewing) Models (27 viewing) Can you believe it? It's damn criminal that it was shut down. But after reviewing some threads, I think I can see what happened. Such a shame...
  19. It is indeed an awesome build-up of one of the most beautiful modern fighters.
  20. I keep clear of the harbour on Australia day... it's just too busy. However, up in the air, you kind of get around that! Great pics!
  21. I built kits for collectors to support myself throughout university. Mainly WWII armour and vehicles. I would charge anywhere between $300 to $1200 depending on the kit, finish required, and extras. I have no problems with the high prices a built kit is marketed for - most builders would NEVER get back their time charged at a reasonable rate.
  22. You can avoid these issues by purchasing 'drawing needles' instead. These needles are used for drawing up liquids, and are perfectly flat cut on the end because they are not used to puncture. I found these out by accident when I went to a chemist to purchase some needles simulate gun barrels as well. The chemist said "we are out of this size needle, we only have drawing needles." When he showed me what a drawing needle was, I took 10.
  23. Cartograf decals in terms of reproduction, in my experience are superior. I think there are no surprises there. I was in Italy some time ago at a printing trade fair in a professional capacity. I cannot remember whether Cartograf was exhibiting there at the time but I was quite astounded by the technology and pride the Italians brought to the table for printing. It was not what I was expecting, to be honest...
