  1. Hi I'd grab one but like a lot of you, shipping is the deal breaker. I am trying to build Cdn birds in different mission set-ups ... Balkans, 9/11 alert and Libya. So, I will continue to hunt local shows. Tom
  2. HI It can be built with some TLC. I have a couple of CA kits and two more Kinetic kits. I want to do another Cdn and a weathered Greek beast. Like I stated in another thread, every modeler has a choice: fix the errors; build as is, put on the shelf to gather dust; or refuse to build it and ridicule modelers who pick one of the first two options. Tom
  3. HI I've been following this build, very nice to see it completed. Well done. T
  4. OMG please tell me you are joking ! Let me guess, based on the "artwork" you will be one of those who will nitpick this to death. We FINALLY have a new tool 1/48 FOXBAT and yet that won't be good enough. I can say based on the KH kits I have, they are not 100% accurate but they are certainly better than what we had before. I cannot to wait to see what happens when the sprue shots are released. I suspect once this will quickly become a "burn the kit" thread. Me thinks it is time to create a NITPICKERS forum, that way those of use who enjoy tweaking or heaven forbid actually building a k
  5. HI Not an expert by any means but I've found Tamiya LGG to be wayyyyyyyy too blue for my liking. T
  6. HI Can anyone confirm the markings that will be included? I've seen reports that suggest Israeli only .... I've two enroute and would like to do Ecuador, Sri Lanka or Columbia ........ Tom
  7. Hi All I can say is good luck ! If this build is like the others, there will nothing left of the original ... Tom
  8. Hi Agreed but for different reasons. Just finishing up the F-35A and while I give them an A for effort and thought, they rate a C for execution. Not that the -35 was bad, just difficult to build with lots of trimming and sanding and fitting etc. I remain hopeful. T
  9. Hi Interesting. My previous experience with Skunkmodels upgrades have been skunky ..... I do not care so much for Israeli markings but all the other possibilities have me tempted. Hopefully this will be a good kit. Thanks for posting. T
  10. Hi I hope to have mine finished this weekend. A bit of a WIF as I am doing an RCAF bird. I gave the kit an A for effort but C for execution. As Niels mentioned, there are parts that are misnumbered, so the old adage of test fit, test fit test fit certainly applies. The complicated complex shaped parts often required lots of test fitting. The horizontal and vertical tail planes being a good example. I found that by NOT gluing the the left and right intake halves together, they fit better. Mine must have a 1/4" gap where they meet the engine face but since nothing is visible, it's all
  11. Hi Bet Mike Belcher will be all over this :-) Tom
  12. Hi Not sure what it is but this is such a cool looking aircraft. Tom
  13. Hi Agreed ! To be totally valid one needs to compare the kit part to the real thing to gauge its accuracy. Regardless, thanks for the pics of the kits details. It looks to be years ahead of the old Academy offering. T
  14. HI IIRC my first was the old 1/32 Revell F-4E followed by the Airfix 5:1 1/72 kit what 40 ?? yeras ago? T
  15. Hi Mid 80's IIRC, I did mine up Montana ANG IIRC (sorry out of town). The plastic is pretty much the same. IIRC the updated the mold for the "NIGHT FALCON" release but its lineage is certainly obvious. Those who track these things will be able to provide more details but there you have it. The new releases date back to the original and lack many of the latest bumps and lumps. Still, a good representation can be built OOTB if you are not overly concerned about the minutia. T
  16. HI I "may" have that. Is that the one with the splatted Santa? If you could PM me this weekend to remind me to look .... on the road until then
  17. Hi Nice .... now the big question! How to order them? :-) Tom
  18. Hi Good info provided. Appreciate the replies. Thanks guys! Tom
  19. Hi There are some really good drawings out there identifying the differences in the various single seater F-16 blocks. Are there any such drawings or lists which identify the differences in the two seater spines? I.e. how is the Israeli one different from a Singaporean one vs. a Greek vs. a Polish etc Thinking of picking up the Academy SUFA but would prefer to build something other than an Israeli bird. TIA Tom
  20. Hi Never mind, link now pointing to new release T
  21. Hi Try this? http://www.modelingmadness.com/splfeat/kr/has48d.htm T
  22. HI Why don't you wait. A new 1/48 one is on the way. I want to say Kitty Hawk but I may be wrong. Several threads on this subject ... Tom
