Just thinking out loud. We've seen the photos of a few F-22s and F-35s sporting some mirror finishes on select panels, to improve their IR and Radar returns. If HG V is such a great coating, why not apply it to the Raptor as well? The Viper got it. Unsure if the F-15EX is being coated with anything. -Jeff

I remember the first time I saw ne of these kits in a shop. Immediately grabbed it, as it was so unique. Until I saw the price. In the late-90s it was marked something close to $50+. Happy watching you return to it and move it forward. -Jeff

Time for a new coffee build. I drink the coffee, you build!! -
Duke passed away yesterday, in Little Rock Arkansas. He was 83. We know his Naval history and then his post service troubles, but in the end he was still a man who served his country and achieved Ace status. A close friend of mine was neighbors with Duke, in Hot Springs, and kept me updated on his declining health over the past year. Because of this, I was never able to make it out to meet him in person. He told Mike he was just so tired...

Glad someone caught them up at TRI. It's been a while since they've visited us down at TYS. Nice captures.

Excellent work Fred. Love what you're doing withe F-5s. I got to see 761541 today. It's assigned to VMFT-402 and stopped in for fuel. Hopefully we get decals soon. -Jeff

Dang, that is impressive. I'd buy the plans and give it a go, myself. There is a guy on YT that does a bunch of mods and scratchbuilt spacecraft. https://www.youtube.com/@Sublight_Drive

Glad others are digging into the kit, as they receive them. Such a shame they didn't do the research to make some basic details, usable. Ejection seats and wheels will be a must by. Since this is a "USAF" bird, maybe some Strike Eagle tires and ACES II seats. The layout of the tail codes and a paint scheme will be a challenge. I've got time.

NEW 1/48 UMa AV-8B Harrier II Plus sprue shots in detail....

Agreeing about the nose proportions being off. The nose is too thin/flat and doesn't correctly slant upwards toward the front windscreen. And I can't speak on the sharpness of the intake lip itself, but the shape is off. Instead of a C, it has an odd exaggerated cant at the 2 O'clock position that shouldn't be there. -
😅 Bravo!!
