  2. Thanks Andy, it works so far, let’s see what the end result will be. for sure I need to fill up inside the two engine bays otherwise it’s a see-through.
  3. Great build - I'd love to get my hands on that kit. Like Scott said - I can't believe Academy hasn't re-released it.
  4. Here you go. https://forums.kitmaker.net/t/news-r2-miniatures-1-35-apache-ground-crew-and-accessories/39074
  5. I am in need of three (3) clear gunsights, part #50 off the clear sprue for the Monogram/Revell 1/48 A-1 Skyraider. Yep, I need three of these! I inherited a box of kits that had the parts loose in the box. When I did an inventory, I found that I was missing all the gunsights! I'm thinking the previous owner removed the canopy parts and tossed the sprue without knowing the gunsights were still attached. I'm willing to purchase if you have any of these in your parts box. Thanks for looking. Don
  6. Unable to give answer but am going to follow the topic so as to see what answers come.
  7. I'm building a B-1 and going to put crew inside; I'm wondering if B-1 pilots wear a G-suit? Also, can/do different crew members wear a green and tan coveralls at the same time?

  9. Holy cow Drew, phantastic start, that cockpit looks awesome !! Steve
  10. This is freaking awesome! I absolutely love how you’ve repurposed the older resin cockpit tubs. Now I don’t feel the need to offload any of mine and may want to get some more since they cost less!
  11. That is going to look grand after painting. While aftermarket parts are a most welcome thing to have available, there remains a lot of satisfaction, even fulfillment, in scratchbuilding parts.
  12. Hi guys, I’m back with my next project, Zoukei Mura’s 1/48 F-4E. I bought it late last year with the intention of using Hypersonic’s late F-4E conversion set. Then a couple of months ago, ZM announced a late F-4E kit shortly after I purchased the Hypersonic conversion! Regardless, I’m moving ahead with the early version ZM kit since the Hypersonic conversion looks like a pretty nice kit. I’m also using the below detail and decal sets: A few years ago, I picked up Speed Hunter Graphic’s USAF Gunfighter’s F-4E decal set and decided on the markings for a New Jersey AN
  13. Hello, This is my first Topic on this fantastic Forum! As many others I am obsessed with F-14 and, especially VF-213 Blacklions. My plan is to assemble as many of these aircraft as possible. Currently, I am concentrating on F-14D AJ200 from 2005-2006 in 1/72 scale. I understood that Hasegawa "VF-213 Blacklions Last Cruise" decals cover the subject (colorful Lion from AJ213 and all the rest is from AJ201) except the "Rescue" arrows, which on the AJ200 were blue, while on others planes were yellow. https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/5721004 I haven't seen decals for this particu
  14. You're braver than me, as I hate PE. I've just never had the skill to deal with it. But those grills will add a really nice depth once everything is finished!👍 Andy
  15. I live about 2 miles from the base, and I don't know of any shuttles from downtown, or anywhere, really, to the show (but then, I don't really look, living so close). I haven't had any real issues with parking on base, but always go early. Friday can be a good day to go, but sometimes there are acts that don't perform that day, so I usually go on Saturday, and sometimes go back on Sunday. I would buy tickets in advance, and for where depends on what you want to do. I think the best views are actually in the bleachers, but they're not the most comfortable and don't have any shade
  16. It will probably come down to whether the markings were etched into the mold. If it is, Atlantis doesn't do alternate markings for obvious reasons. But the box art shows an AC in test as well as operational colors. So..... I'm too young to remember the kit, so I don't have a definitive answer. But the date of the original kit suggests it probably does have the engravings. (However, in one kit, their S2F, they provided an alternate set in different colors so you could build the aircraft in early service blue (white decals) or the later gray/white scheme with black dec
  17. Testing time… The first US live inflight ejection took place over Wright-Patterson Field on March 15th 1986. The test airplane was a modified P-61-B-5 42-39498 Black Widow, named “JACK-IN-THE-BOX”. There were several ground tests as the P-61 with a jacked up nose ejected a seat into a net, then finally the in flight test on August 17th 1946 when 1st SGT lambert ejected from the aptly named JACK-IN-THE-BOX landing in a pasture north of Osborn OH. A few days later Cpl Brickheimer ejected from the P-61 at 5,800’ and 256 Kts on august 21st 1945. In some stories on rejection R&D
  18. The impulse engine exhaust ports have been roughed out in sheet styrene. I will grind them down to their final shape after the cement has cured overnight. The ports are depicting by the vertical lines on the superstructure templates shown just above the ports.
  19. Looking forward to this one. Anyone seen the decal sheet? I’m wondering if there is more than just the box scheme…
  20. post of the month right here! Well done Mofo! lol

  22. Outstanding! Cannot believe this kit hasn’t been rereleased.
  23. Hell yeah! Semper Fi!! The GAU-21 RMWS is a little near and dear to my heart. I was the program manager for it when I was at MAWTS-1 and later up at NAVAIR when we were testing it and getting it into final production for the fleet. Here's a pic of the prototype system for a congressional visit day at MCAF Quantico. Trying to drum up congressional add money sowe could rapidly deploy the gun to the fleet. Also installed on this PAX bird 163086 was the ballistic floorboard armor.....stuff was a giant PITA. (Jus sayin) (Oh, you can tell its a VIP visit day...notice cl
  24. OOooh F.n RRahhh! Gunny. Yea I used the kit .50 and built the rest. Thanks Brother, Sempre Fi.
  25. Fantastic CH-53E here!! Did you scratch build the GAU-21 RMWS? If you did, darn near perfect my friend!! My first boat squadron as a CH-53E guy was HMM-163(REIN) for Somalia in 1993/1994. My bird was YP-65. So I love me some Evil Eyes. In HMH-462 we had (4) brand new factory fresh CH-53E's. So we painted our Evil Eyes a little different for that float. Here is how our Evil Eyes looked 1993-1994 11th MEU Float.
