  1. In-box look at the new Hobby Boss kit. LINKAGE
  2. When you downsize that F-89 sheet to 1/72, maybe you can sneak in markings for the A and B variants. Shouldn't require all that much room. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  3. Y'know what would be cool? Markings for the first OV-10As with the "Tri-Service" markings, as see here. At least for the 1/72 sheet. ๐Ÿ˜‡
  4. The 21st was assigned to the 374th Troop Carrier Group, and the badge on the bottom resembles the badge currently used by the 374th Operations Group, though the blue/yellow colors are reversed. The uppermost badge appears to be that of the US Far East Air Forces.
  5. Hereโ€™s a reasonably colorful, post-war C-47A. LINK LINK (squadron badge)
  6. I'm going to need help choosing which markings I'm going to use for the Hasegawa kit in my stash! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
  7. Silver MATS scheme, eh? I'll be eager to see this sheet in 1/144...in due course. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  8. I remove and clean the needle and accessible areas of the primary airbrush assembly after every painting session. Most airbrush issues are caused by paint accumulations, so the more time you spend cleaning the airbrush, the better it will perform. I do a deeper clean (completely disassembling the entire airbrush) every six months or so. Steven Brown Scale Model Soup
  9. I see the 56th Fighter Wing has recently begun moving to the new scheme. Fingers crossed you can include an example on the sheet. LINKAGE
  10. Good for you, Andrew! When you no longer find a model compelling, better to trash it and move on. Life is too short and there are too many other (more exciting) models asking for your time.
  11. Nice work, Collin! May I ask what paint(s) you used to capture the orange/red color?
  12. There are a few on eBay at the moment. Good luck!
  13. I don't see anything on their Facebook page. You might drop them an email at asquaredaftermarket@gmail.com.
  14. I've looked for drawings, too, in anticipation of building the Sword kit at some point. I can't find drawings that would meet my needs, so I'd suggest studying photos of walkarounds like this one to determine where rivets are located.
  15. With the pending release of the Hobby Boss 1/72 F8F Bearcat, there's another idea.
  16. We need decals for the F9F Panther and Cougar. There are a few out there, but a rich set of active duty, reserve, and wartime markings would be cool.
  17. Noice! The 48th has been a favorite since I saw it in this issue of Scale Modeler a thousand years ago.
  18. Very cool and well done. I've been eager to see this model built up!
  19. Well would you look at that!!! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
  20. Either is fine, but a square base might "force" you (LOL) to keep the composition tight. Maybe you can sketch it out and share it here for feedback.
  21. Another random thought. Look at photos of dioramas online and really study them. Figure out why some are better than others, and make a mental note of what works. And what doesn't.
  22. My priorities when considering a diorama. 1. Make sure I have a compelling story that I want to tell through the diorama. 2. Identify the key element of the diorama that will serve as the focal point for the viewer. 3. Compose the elements of the diorama so they all lead to or point to the key element. 4. Use as small a base as possible, because a small, tight composition is better than a diorama that is too large.
  23. You might be right, but I'd be hesitant to ask for markings for an aircraft that required significant conversion. I hope that markings for the white and tan/brown schemes (particularly the latter) wouldnโ€™t take up a lot of space on the sheet. No matter, I'll buy the sheet either way. ๐Ÿ™‚
